Welcome to Natalie
This week we welcome Natalie back to St Georges after a stint in the Forbes Parish. Natalie was placed over at Forbes after she was ordained Deacon under the leadership of Reverend Crystal. Natalie will continue to be an Honorary Deacon but her licence for ministry will be in the Parish of Parkes and she will be responsible to and guided by myself. The licence includes a reference to Natalie’s ministry with Anglicare and she will continue with her current commitments to Anglicare to which she has been called. This enable Natalie, Jay and their boys to worship as a family which has difficult whilst she has been in Forbes.
With this week being Anglicare Sunday, it is a time to reflect over the year and look at the inroads into the community. The Boutique has been doing well and now has had some internal work done to have a workroom towards the back of the shop in readiness for the final move out of the old rectory. The pantry output has kept the volunteers extremely busy as the drought deepen and its affects on our wider community deepens. The team now opens on a Friday afternoon for farmers and after a slow start their clientele has grown and now are quite busy each week as numbers grow.
There is a shopping trolley placed near the entry to the church that also supports the pantry. The needs for toiletries, e.g. toilet paper, soap and any non-perishable items are most welcome. Please keep this valuable ministry in your prayers and thoughts especially as the effects of the drought continue.
